DESIGN COMMUNICATION II
INSTRUCTOR: YI-HSIU-YEH / SPRING 2017 / WOODBURY UNIVERSITY
Will further the skills of first year students by introducing them to techniques for modeling and drawing surfaces and frames. The shift from primitives (cube) to surfaces and lines will be marked by a shift from Rhino to Grasshopper as the primary means of design generation.
Villa savoye wall section axonometric
This phase introduces students to a case study and students will be asked to translate their knowledge of the project into drawings and text that describe the tectonic importance of the case study project.
Grid Modification
This phase introduces students to parametric processes using Grasshopper, to define multiple grids and then transform them in a systematic way to create new patterns and methods of organization.
