hOUSE OF CERNU

House of Cernu is a fashion house located at the Del Almo Plaza Sump. This fashion house takes its inspiration from the Gaelic god of the forest, Cernunnos. House of Cernu is designed to be the epicenter of the arrival of Cernunnos in modern day society, overtaking the city through the spillage of a forest. The fashion house uses the corruption of the sump to become a runway environment that invites the community to experience the connection between man and nature as well as the history of Cernunnos. Here House of Cernu will transform the sump into its base of operations as well as gallery space, and ever evolving runways that are purposely design to flood in baroque patterns. This will be where House of Cernu will unveil its collection inspired by the embodiment of Cernunnos to create couture silhouettes out of scrap materials from the city left behind.

Cernu Collection

The Cernu Collection takes inspiration from the Gaelic god of the forests, Cernunnos. Since Cernunnos is is said to be the mediator of man and nature and this collection is the embodiment of the relationship between man and nature. The Cernu Collection uses scrap wood pieces from the city and converts them into unique materials to be then used in the realm of fashion. Essentially the components of the collection are thermoplastic-wood hybrids and reclaimed woods. Here we are promoting the conversion of scrap materials into wearable silhouettes that would be considered couture. These silhouettes will be derived from a contemporary interpretation of Cernunnos’ horns. These pieces will allow the user to carry themselves as if they are channeling and being guarded by Cernunnos’ energy.
