Exo Farms

Exo Farms is a transitional housing complex which emphasizes the use of green scape upon the Skidrow Rooftops. Exo Farms uses a grid to create the housing units as well as the different communal farms. This complex takes its name from its central structural system being an exo skeleton that allows to grow and expand over time. The exo skeleton allows for the housing units to be fully customizable to fit the users need as it is designed to be a kit of parts. Here the residents will have the opportunity to experience the possibilities of rooftop farms as well as an aquaponic station. The residents will be able to grow their very own organic produce with the leftovers being sent off to the loading are to supply the nearby communities. Exo Farms invokes a solution to the wasted space of abandoned rooftops to create a greener way of solving the ever growing homeless crisis in Los Angeles.
